Cardinal Point Captains, Inc. is seeking Galley Mates to support vessel operations for the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary, offshore from Galveston, Texas. These roles are seasonal and part-time, providing meal preparation and vessel support for research and outreach missions al candidates are experienced in marine environments, adaptable to changing schedules, and comfortable working offshore for several days at a time.

• Competitive wages: $20/hr–$28/hr DOE
• Seasonal, part-time, on-call work

• Work with a professional and collegial team supporting scientists and educators

• At least 1 year of vessel deck management experience in offshore marine environments
• Ability to perform galley duties at sea, including meal prep and clean up
• Willingness to deploy at sea for up to 5 days at a time, up to 100 nautical miles offshore
• Ability to adjust to changing schedules due to weather or emergency operations
• Proven punctuality and professionalism
• Ability to work offshore without becoming seasick and assist others with motion sickness
• Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 75 lbs
• Current valid driver’s license
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications
• Possess or able to obtain NOAA Component Course certification
• Non-smoking vessels

• Proficiency with scuba dive compressors, including NITROX percentage mixes at different levels (highly desirable but not required)
