Chief Engineer

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the management and oversight of the equipment owned and/or rented by the company
• Manage the repair and maintenance program, equipment inventory and location, as well as the critical spares inventory
• Report to the Vessel Manager on projects and project management regarding critical decisions
• Maintain inventory of all pieces of equipment, and their locations, at all times
• Oversee the repair and maintenance program for all equipment
• Maintain all equipment in good operating condition and ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner
• Track daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports and inspections
• Maintain record of repair
• Maintain inventory of spare parts
• Requisition spare parts and supplies
• Track and requisition fuel, lube, and water
• Monitor all mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components on the dredge and support equipment
• Initiate corrective and preventative actions to ensure goals are met
• Performs other related duties as assigned

• Ability to obtain TWIC
• Knowledge of operation of various types of marine equipment, tools, and devices
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
