Software Development Internship

In the context of the development and validation of critical embedded application software, a Software-In-The-Loop (SIL) simulation platform has been deployed. It allows the execution of the control software in a simulated environment, relying on a reference debugging tool in the field of embedded software. This solution is positioned between the generation of the engine control software executable and physical bench tests, offering an essential intermediate validation phase.

During this internship, you will have the opportunity to discover the entire process of design, generation, and testing of an embedded executable. You will work on the virtual version of the calculator, which, like its embedded equivalent, collects sensor data, executes real-time control algorithms, and pilots actuators to regulate engine operation. This virtual calculator is integrated into a multi-platform simulation environment, including engine control and a tool ensuring synchronization between all components.

To date, the environment already allows simulating several calculators in parallel and launching predefined scenarios. The main current limitation is that the simulation outputs are not automatically reinjected as input at each cycle. The objective of the internship will be to "close the loop" to make the simulation completely autonomous and capable of self-regulation, similar to tests performed on a physical bench.

Within the Studies Directorate, attached to the Software Project Management Service, you will participate in the following activities:
1. Contribution to the solution architecture choices, 2. Analysis of the existing simulation platform and study of its possibilities for evolution, 3. Development of the necessary software components, 4. Implementation and realization of functional tests, 5. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to refine and validate functional requirements, 6. Writing of the associated technical documentation.

You are a student in a Bac+5 program (engineering school or Master in computer science).

You have solid knowledge in software development and you master the C and Python languages. Experience with Simulink is an appreciated asset. Technically curious, rigorous, you show a good team spirit and enjoy collaborating in a multidisciplinary environment.
