Required Experience- Experience working in a medical office is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with staff, patients, and physicians.
- Experience practicing data processing systems.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workflow in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding and insurance authorization processes required.
- Surgical office experience and surgical procedure scheduling required.
- Proficiency in another language is preferred.
- Schedule preoperative testing, pre-op office visits, and follow-up appointments.
- Schedule reconstructive surgical procedures and coordinate with outside facilities and physicians.
- Order and manage surgical supplies as needed.
- Communicate with the authorization department to obtain authorizations for office visits and surgical procedures.
- Obtain insurance authorizations for radiology exams, injectable procedures, supplies, and home care when required.
- Notify patients by phone or email with details of scheduled pre‑op, PST, and surgery dates, including clearance requirements.
- Assist patients with inquiries related to office visits, insurance, surgery scheduling, and disability forms.
- Maintain and update patient EMR records, ensuring completeness of all required documentation (operative reports, testing results, radiology, and pathology reports).
- Review patient accounts daily in preparation for scheduled appointments.
- Perform Health Commerce I-Stop (narcotic) checks per office protocol.
- Schedule patient appointments as needed.
- Monitor physician schedules to ensure efficient patient flow, collaborating with Patient Relations Representatives and nursing staff.
- Open, sort, and review physician mail.
- Schedule physician meetings, seminars, and workshops.
- Act as a liaison between the front desk and physicians to resolve scheduling issues.
- Maintain physician call calendars and secure coverage as needed.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to physicians as requested.
- High school diploma or GED required.
Location: Garden City (Hybrid Schedule – 4 days onsite and 1 day remotely)
(Training will be conducted at our Garden City location for a period of 1–3 months).
