Examiner‑Marker (SEN)
Freelance examiner working with AIM Qualifications and Assessment Organisation, a registered charity and awarding organisation operating as an Access to HE validating agency and end‑point assessment organisation.
Role OverviewMark the AIM Set Project for the Level 3 Technical Occupational Entry for Teaching Assistants focusing on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (Diploma). The qualification has two externally marked assessment series per academic year. You will mark the externally assessed assessment materials, submissions will be issued via the AIM secure portal at the beginning of January and June each year, and the marking period commences shortly thereafter.
Attendance at mandatory training and standardisation days is required.
- Mark accurately and consistently to maintain overall standard.
- Submit samples to AIM as scheduled.
- Ensure milestones for marking are met.
- Complete all required administration.
- Work within tight timescales when needed.
- Hold a teaching or training qualification (Level 3, 4 or 5).
- Have substantial experience working in the Special Educational Needs sector.
- Possess a PTLLS (or equivalent) qualification.
- Experience of external assessment marking is desirable.
- Commitment to ongoing training and standardisation.
- Contracted or freelance basis.
- Weekend or variable hours per week; ratable to a daily rate.
- Occasional travel to the AIM HQ in Derby may be required.
Multiple locations across the UK. The role may require occasional travel to the AIM HQ in Derby.
