Job DescriptionThe special education teacher in the LEAP/Life Skills and RISE programs is responsible for designing and maintaining a highly structured learning environment tailored to students with significant cognitive and adaptive needs. This role focuses on the development of critical life skills including functional communication, personal self-care, and social-emotional regulation. By implementing individualized instructional strategies and utilizing assistive technology, the teacher ensures that each student’s unique educational goals are met, fostering independence for daily living and community integration.
