Facility Janitor

Overview

Facility Janitor role at empirical Foods. Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the plant facility, utilizing sanitizing chemicals and cleaning equipment as needed.

• Clean, sanitize, sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum all assigned areas (bathrooms, locker rooms, hallways, stairwells, welfare areas, and production offices).
• Maintain clean and safe work areas, free from slippery surfaces and debris.
• Clean and sanitize walls, windows, tables, floors, and similar surfaces.
• Empty trash and garbage containers; pick up cigarette butts, paper, and any debris inside or outside the facility.
• Visually observe repairs or issues in the plant (e.g., missing tiles, light bulb replacement) and report to management.
• Operate several types of motorized cleaning equipment; use, maintain, and store equipment properly.
• Perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Ability to read and understand cleaning labels.
• Must be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to operate small power or hand tools.
• Ability to operate machinery and equipment (e.g., ride-on scrubbers).
• Basic computer skills are not required.

• Work independently and complete assigned tasks.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form.
• Must have regular and punctual attendance.

• This position requires sitting, standing, walking, climbing, twisting, reaching, bending, and lifting.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 60 lbs.
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Previous janitorial experience is advantageous, but not required.

High School diploma or equivalent, or verifiable ability to perform essential job functions.
