This position is located at Johnson County Correctional Facilities in New Century and Olathe, Kansas. It is a Full-Time Day Shift with a $5 Night Shift Differential and a sign-on bonus feature.

$37.00/hr - $42.00/hr

• The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers quality care within the scope of practice as outlined by the local state nurse practice act.
• Assumes responsibility for the quality of care delivered; maintains a safe environment for patients and staff; acts as patient advocate and leader to promote best practices in nursing.
• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records; administer medications and monitor for reactions; record vital signs and patient information.
• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ condition; coordinate with healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Modify treatment plans as indicated by patient response and condition; supervise less-skilled staff as appropriate.
• Prepare patients for examinations or treatments; educate patients and families on health topics and disease prevention; develop health improvement programs.
• Prepare rooms, equipment, and supplies; ensure stock levels are maintained; order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed.
• Adhere to state laws and regulations governing practice; maintain CPR certification and ongoing clinical competencies.

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or approved RN program.
• Current RN licensure in the state of employment.
• Active CPR certification.
• Knowledge of state practice acts and regulations; ongoing commitment to professional development.
• Must be able to work a Full-Time schedule:
  Day shifts (3-12 hour shifts weekly);
  Monday-Friday 8-hour shifts.
