American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum) position at an acute care hospital in Garden City, KS, requiring a minimum of 2 years of LDRP experience and active certifications including NRP and ACLS.
Responsibilities- Acute care hospital setting with a combined L&D/Postpartum/Mother-Baby unit (LDRP)
- Unit consists of 12 LDRP rooms, 1 OR suite for C-sections, and 1 triage bed
- Averages approximately 1.5 births per day and 50–60 births per month
- AWHONN staffing ratio guidelines are followed
- Nurses are required to titrate Pitocin drips
- Fetal monitoring required using GE and OBIX EFM systems; no adult telemetry on the unit
- One surgical tech supports the unit; OB/Neonatologist and anesthesia are not in-house 24/7
- Charge nurses typically carry a patient assignment
- EMR:
Epic - 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend required
- Floating required between L&D, Postpartum, and Mother-Baby
- Call/standby required per policy
- 13-week contract
- Responsibilities include caring for laboring, delivering, and postpartum patients, as well as circulating in the OR for C-sections
- Unit/department-specific orientation consists of 1–2 shifts
- Candidates must be on-site and in-state for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
- Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any Common Spirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates placed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
- Scrub color: any professional colors
- No holiday coverage requirements
- Travellers are expected to secure housing within the float zone to meet floating requirements
- Active KS RN license or Compact (NLC) RN license — must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses will not be accepted
- Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required
- Couplet care and OR circulator experience required
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring — pending certifications not accepted
- Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; a valid driver's license is used to verify permanent address
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
