• Required Qualifications:
  • Certificates:
    Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS, American Heart Association), Basic Life Support (BLS, American Heart Association), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
• Experience:
  • At least 2 years of ER nursing experience
  • Familiarity with common ER medications and protocols
  • Ability to float within Zone 4 (multiple ER units within 60-mile radius of Garden City, Kansas)
• Orientation: 2-3 days after arrival in state
• Patient Types: abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, hypertension
• RN-to-patient ratios: 1:4 to 1:5 depending on acuity
• Equipment: ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow oxygen, advanced respiratory equipment
• Required Skills:
  
  interpret telemetry, perform point-of-care labs and phlebotomy
• Charting: EPIC; dress code: navy blue
