Required qualifications

• Active RN license
  • The posting says “License to Submit:
    Yes,” meaning the license must be submitted with the candidate profile.
• BLS – AHA
• ACLS – AHA
• NIHSS experience/competency
  • Listed under the unit's “Must have” skills.
• Med/Surg RN experience/competency
  • The unit is a 32-bed medical-surgical unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
  • Ability to manage patients with conditions such as:
    • CHF and hypertension
    • Chest-pain workups
    • COPD/asthma/pneumonia
    • Pancreatitis
    • Bowel obstruction
    • GI bleeding
    • Acute renal failure
  • Ability to titrate/manage IV drips, including analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives.
  • Ability to care for patients requiring CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and ventilators.
  • Ability to float when required.
    • The nurse is first to float.
    • In an extreme staffing need, the nurse could float within Zone 4.
  • Education
  • BSN is NOT required.
  • An ADN-prepared RN can be considered, assuming the other requirements are met.
