Phaxis Education is seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Education Teacher to support (9th-12th grade) students in a resource position.
Position OverviewThese Special Education Teacher roles focus on providing high-quality instruction, individualized support, and behavioral intervention for students with diverse learning needs. Teachers will work closely with school teams, support staff, and families to promote academic and behavioral growth in a family-oriented, hands-on district environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct special education instruction aligned with student IEPs
- Support students with diverse academic, behavioral, and developmental needs
- Implement and collaborate on FBAs, BIPs, accommodations, and supports
- Maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment
- Collect and analyze student data to monitor progress and adjust instruction
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and administrators
- Communicate regularly with families, IEP teams, and support professionals
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary planning
- Support inclusion practices and assist with behavioral interventions as needed
- Setting:
Resource Room - Caseload: approx. 30
- Active MI Special Education License
- Experience working with students with behavioral and developmental needs
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
