Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join a growing electrical and infrastructure services organization in Garden City, NY. This role will oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced managing payroll for both hourly and salaried employees in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full payroll process and ensure accurate, timely payroll processing.
• Review wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, timekeeping, and employee changes.
• Ensure compliance with payroll tax and wage-and-hour requirements.
• Partner with HR, Finance, and managers to resolve payroll issues.
• Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records.
• Reconcile payroll reports, taxes, deductions, and related accounting activity.
• Coordinate year-end payroll activities, including W-2s.
• Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve discrepancies.
• Support payroll audits and process improvements.
• Stay current on applicable payroll laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing, taxes, deductions, and reconciliations.
• Experience with payroll and HRIS systems.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
• Experience with both hourly and salaried employees.
• New York payroll experience strongly preferred.

Preferred

• CPP or FPC certification.
• Experience in construction, electrical, engineering, infrastructure, or another project-based industry.
• Experience with field employees, skilled trades, union payroll, or certified payroll.
• Multi-state payroll experience.
