JOB SUMMARY:
The Department of Theatre in the College of Arts and Sciences at Adelphi University invites applications for adjunct teaching opportunities for the academic year. Instructors will teach undergraduate courses on campus in areas of Theatre Arts such as various levels of acting, theatre history, Theatrical design, and management classes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Administer and teach undergraduate courses on campus in areas of Theatre Arts such as Advanced Acting, Directing, Theatre History, Design Technology, Stage and Lighting Design, and other related courses.
* Available courses for new instructors vary each semester and may include:
Theatre History, Stage Management, Sound Production, Various levels of acting classes, movement techniques (such as Viewpoints, Laban, Lecoq, or others).
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master's degree in Theatre Arts or a closely related field is required.
* Teaching experience at the college or university level.
* Evident commitment to educational equity.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* MFA or PhD or other terminal degree in Theatre or closely related field.
* A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
* Experience and proficiency teaching students in a BFA program.

SALARY INFORMATION:
In compliance with New York's Pay Transparency Act, the salary for this position is $1,866 per credit.
