DESCRIPTION:
The Nassau BOCES Department of Regional Schools and Instructional Programs is seeking a Part-time Adult Instructor to teach in the Trade Electric Certification Program. This program provides industry aligned career training and experience to adult students interested in acquiring the necessary skills to assimilate into the 21st Century workforce. Classes will be held two nights per week from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. at the Adult Career and Technical Education Center in Westbury.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Providing instruction for the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Electric Level I Course. Coursework and training include:
* The fundamentals of complex phases of commercial and residential electrical construction as well as basic construction safety
* An array of concepts and codes, theory, and practical knowledge of wiring methods, switches, and circuits through classroom and workshop sessions
* Engaging students in valuable shop work in our state-of-the-art facility simulating work in electrical companies
* Preparing students for the written and practical assessments required for NCCER certification
REQUIREMENTS:
* Industry related experience
* Previous teaching experience is preferred

As per salary schedule.
