Registered Nurse

Overview

The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to adult patients with mental health and/or chemical dependency diagnoses in Mercy Hospital's Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates plans of care; administers medications; performs diagnostic testing; provides patient education; and collaborates with an interdisciplinary treatment team. The RN demonstrates service excellence and adheres to all hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

* Assess patient needs and implement individualized plans of care

* Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support treatment delivery

* Respond to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions

* Administer medications safely, including psychotropic and long-acting injectables; monitor for adverse effects

* Maintain compliance with medication, controlled substance, and infection control regulations

* Perform clinical procedures including EKGs, point-of-care testing, and venipuncture

* Manage medication storage, inventory, temperature monitoring, and disposal

* Provide medication, wellness, and treatment adherence education

* Assist with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) services as trained

* Act as liaison with families, community supports, and case managers; conduct outreach as needed

* Complete accurate, timely documentation meeting clinical and regulatory standards

* Participate in quality improvement activities, staff meetings, and required trainings

* Facilitate medication education groups; train on and utilize the Mobilab system

* Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

* Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN required); psychiatric/mental health experience preferred

* Competency in EKGs, psychotropic injections, point-of-care testing, and phlebotomy

* Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and psychotropic medications

* Strong documentation and organizational skills

* Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required

* Current BLS (CPR/AED) certification or willingness to obtain

Salary Range

USD $54.48 - USD $74.72 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
