Manufacturing Engineer – High Reliability & RF Group
Works at Microchip Technology Inc. in Garden Grove, California, supporting design, review, prototyping, specification review, material verification, validation, and qualification testing of mechanical relay products.
Key Responsibilities- Use existing resources to collect, present, and evaluate data to verify conformance to key design parameters and identify potential discrepancies in electrical and mechanical performance.
- Perform root cause analysis, diagnostic data mining, and implement corrective actions for nonconforming supplier parts.
- Dispostion parts in collaboration with engineering and prescribe rework options considering product risk, safety, and efficacy.
- Review process documents, engineering drawings, and product specifications; update as required.
- Propose design modifications to improve reliability, performance, and cost.
- Investigate manufacturing issues and tooling discrepancies; propose solutions and collaborate with machinists or toolmakers.
- Design jigs, fixtures, work platforms, hand tools, and specialized tools needed for small component fabrication.
- Perform duties with minimal supervision; initiative and independent work execution required.
- Possibly assemble relay parts, adjust relays, take electrical data, or run device testing to support production and QPL maintenance.
- Basic:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or materials engineering.
- 0–3 years of experience with electrical or electromechanical device design.
- Solid knowledge of Excel; working knowledge of AutoCAD and dynamic simulation programs such as ProE, Solid Works, or ANSYS simulation is a plus.
- Preferred:
- Strong electromechanical process background.
- Good understanding of analog mechanical design and electrical circuitry.
- Experience with small component manufacturing.

Annual base salary range: $70,304–$143,000. Total compensation includes base pay, restricted stock units, quarterly bonus, health benefits, retirement savings plan, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
