The Fabrication Operator (A) is responsible for working in manufacturing, performing tasks such as polishing acrylic, assembling cabin windows and pilot windows, cutting acrylic using hand tools such as band saws and manual saws, running custom machinery such as stretch machines, data entry, moving large pieces of acrylic (e.g., canopies, acrylic sheets), layup, coating, and setting up ovens and autoclaves. The Fabrication Operator (A) will support the manufacturing ramp up of windows, canopies and windshields for defense and commercial aircraft.

• Contribute to the team in creating a Great Place to Work by role‑modeling safety‑first, a Kaizen mindset, and supporting colleagues.
• Hold themselves and fellow team members accountable to embody the GKN Aerospace culture principles.
• Undertake all tasks in compliance with standard work and training, and report safety, quality, or other problems immediately to their TL.
• Exemplify a safety‑first mindset and follow all GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
• Understand their team’s People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cash and Cost Key Performance Indicators and their contribution to them.
• Become certified at the Lean Foundation level and implement at least one Kaizen per month.
• Support the team and TL in problem solving, contributing ideas based on personal experience of tasks.
• Be an active member of the team, promoting collective engagement with each other.

  • Export Control regulations.
• Responsible for recording and maintaining accurate production records to ensure compliance.
• Will be working while wearing a respirator.
• Will work with chemicals and resins in the manufacturing.
• Will use measuring tools such as micrometers, scales and calipers to ensure compliance to blueprint.
• Will comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions outlined in manufacturing documentation.
• Will work in a team environment.

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Fluent in English and able to demonstrate strong Reading and Writing operational proficiency.
• Able to perform heavy lifting, up to 50 pounds assisted.
• US Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site requirements.

• Familiarity with ASI.
• Has experience working in an Aerospace Manufacturing Environment.

The compensation for this position is:

$22.32/hour
