Position Summary
The CNC Programmer is responsible for creating, optimizing, validating, and maintaining CNC programs that support the efficient production of precision fasteners. This position partners with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Tooling teams to improve machine performance, reduce scrap, increase throughput, and ensure conformance to customer specifications.
- Create, edit, test, and maintain CNC programs.
- Optimize cycle times, tooling utilization, and machine efficiency.
- Review blueprints, GD&T, routers, specifications, and work orders.
- Support machine setups, first article inspections, and process validations.
- Troubleshoot programming, tooling, and machine issues.
- Conduct routine floor audits and process reviews.
- Collaborate with operators and supervisors on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate setup sheets, tooling records, and program documentation.
- Support lean manufacturing, safety, and quality objectives.
High school diploma or GED required. Technical certification preferred. Minimum five years of CNC programming and setup experience, preferably in fastener manufacturing.
Technical CompetenciesAdvanced G-Code and M-Code knowledge, blueprint reading, GD&T, tooling selection, machining principles, precision measurement, SPC awareness, ERP/MES systems, and process improvement methodologies.
Behavioral CompetenciesProblem solving, accountability, collaboration, communication, adaptability, quality focus, time management, and safety awareness.
Essential Job Functions- Create, modify, verify, and maintain CNC programs.
- Read and interpret blueprints, routers, setup sheets, and work orders.
- Perform machine setups and validate first-piece production.
- Troubleshoot CNC programming, tooling, machine, and process issues.
- Use calipers, micrometers, comparators, gauges, and microscopes.
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Follow safety procedures and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Maximum weight to be lifted independently is 40 pounds. Employees must seek assistance for loads exceeding 40 pounds.

- Over 40 lbs Team lift or assistance required
Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment, noise, oils, coolants, and required PPE.
