ResponsibilitiesThe Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN provides direct patient care within the scope of practice, directs and guides patient/family teaching, and oversees the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards in Telemetry. The RN is directly accountable for patient care in the Emergency Department, communicates with physicians regarding patient status and diagnostic results, responds promptly to changes in condition, and is knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse.
The RN maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintained
- Current ACLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintained
- Current PALS (AHA) certificate and/or ENPC within 30 days upon hire and maintained
- Minimum of one year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital; ER setting preferred
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintained annually
- Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire, maintained
- EDAP certified facilities:
Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire - Non‑OB facilities: NRP (AHA) certificate within 90 days of hire, maintained
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required
The current compensation range for this role is $52.89 to $66.05 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined at the time of hiring, considering factors such as skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
