To lead the accounting function of GSM US by ensuring compliance with local and international financial reporting standards, managing tax obligations, supporting business model implementation, and delivering accurate financial reports aligned with IFRS and corporate requirements
Business Model Control- Ensure accounting practices align with GSM’s business model and strategic objectives.
- Monitor financial performance and provide insights to support operational decisions.
- Collaborate with business units to ensure accurate cost allocation and profitability analysis.
- Support financial modeling and scenario planning for new initiatives.
- Ensure full compliance with US tax laws and regulations.
- Overise timely and accurate filing of VAT, income tax, withholding tax, and other statutory returns.
- Liaise with external tax consultants and government agencies (e.g., BIR).
- Lead tax planning initiatives to optimize tax efficiency and mitigate risks.
- Ensure financial records comply with US Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS).
- Maintain accurate general ledger and accounting documentation.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Coordinate with external auditors and ensure timely completion of statutory audits.
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team.
- Develop and implement internal controls and accounting policies.
- Ensure readiness for internal and external audits.
- Represent GSM US in financial discussions with auditors, regulators, and HO
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
- Minimum 8 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of PFRS, IFRS, and US tax regulations.
- Experience in multinational and transportation/logistics preferred.
- Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
