Light Duty Fuel Cell Technician
Job Summary:
Our client in Gardena, CA is looking for a Light Duty Fuel Cell Technician. This is a contract position.
What You Will Do:- Vehicle instrumentation w/proprietary and commercially available data acquisition equipment of Our Client's & competitor vehicles.
- Data acquisition & compilation including vehicle data, station performance data, etc.
- Participate in and support on-road vehicle evaluations, hydrogen station testing, etc.
- including travel and overnight trips. - Participate in and support chassis dynamometer testing including vehicle set-up & driving on the dyno.
- Vehicle parts ordering & inventory management.
- Troubleshoot & repair vehicle mechanical & electrical systems, including high voltage and high-pressure hydrogen systems.
- Perform routine maintenance of Fuel Cell vehicles and/or coordinate w/dealerships to schedule associated service.
- Schedule/coordinate/support driver group to ensure schedules, vehicles, etc. meet expectations of the overall test program. Support driver group safety incident investigations when necessary.
- Issue daily, weekly and/or periodic general and technical reports where necessary.
- Minimum 5-Years automotive dealership experience.
- Experience in diagnosis & repair of Hybrid / Electric Vehicles & Systems incl. certification through an OEM service program.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems including vehicle electrical diagnosis & repair.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and wiring diagrams (for vehicles and instrumentation).
- Meet or exceed the following criteria:
- Excellent driving record (8+years experience with no accidents & traffic violations within the last 3-years. MVR must be ran.
- Proficient w/ Microsoft Windows, email, MS Word, Excel (agency to submit results of a computer aptitude test demonstrating experience level).
- Excellent communication & organizational skills.
- Works well independently - without direct supervision.
- Capable of adapting to a continuously changing work environment – including at remote test locations or customer sites.
- Salary range: 66k - 68k annual.
- Knowledge and/or certification in Fuel Cell systems (Our Client's or other) highly preferred.
- Automotive or other R&D testing experience incl. use of various data acquisition systems and instrumentation of test vehicles / articles.
- High voltage certification (1000V+ AC/DC).
- Experience in adjacent fields such as commercial/industrial electrical systems, generators (natural gas / electric / diesel), compressors, motors, & PLCs – commissioning, testing, diagnosis, and repair.
- Fabrication experience (i.e., machine shop, welding (MIG & TIG), etc.).
- Experience with fabrication and assembly of high pressure pneumatic and/or hydraulics systems using Swagelok or other.
- Experience driving an M/T vehicle.
- ASE Certifications.
- A/C Certification (MACS / EPA
609).
