$5,000 Sign on Bonus

The Radiologic Technologist II must perform two modalities. In addition to Radiology Tech I criteria, the technician must be competent in one of the following:
Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), or Interventional Radiology (IR). The technologist performs all examinations at a technical level sufficient to provide adequate diagnosis with limited supervision, in accordance with established procedures and protocols. The role plays an integral part in diagnosing and monitoring disease and injuries across the full patient age spectrum while maintaining quality control through consistent equipment calibration and protocol adherence.

The technologist communicates effectively with physicians, radiologists, and patients, upholding the values of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank‑you) and remaining compliant with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.

Essential Functions
  • Completing the patient intake process and educating patients about the imaging procedure.
  • Reviewing patient charts and doctor’s notes prior to examination and maintaining records during and after procedures.
  • Preparing contrast media for diagnostic imaging.
  • Calibrating imaging equipment and ensuring correct image acquisition as ordered by the physician.
  • Documenting imaging procedures using radiology information systems and managing charge capture.
  • Ensuring proper sterilization, storage, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Coordinating with the radiology department to schedule and complete procedures.
  • Maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of current radiology practices.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of CT or MRI principles and computer applications related to scanning.
  • Performing appropriate positioning for cross‑sectional imaging and reviewing images for adequate diagnostic information.
  • Managing emergency situations, initiating code calls, and ensuring emergency equipment readiness.
  • Reviewing special instructions on patient questionnaires and requisitions with the radiologist.
  • Assisting in training and guidance of new staff and students rotating through these modalities.
  • Using clear, concise professional communication with coworkers, patients, and external customers.
  • Utilizing AIDET and white board tools for patient communication.
  • Collaborating across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, and referrals.
  • Acting with a sense of urgency and maintaining unit/department organization.
  • Reporting equipment or environmental issues for repair.
  • Abiding by HIPAA regulations.
  • Utilizing SBAR for shift hand‑offs and communications with physicians.
  • Escalating potential safety events when necessary.
  • Completing and attending monthly training assignments.
  • Floating to other hospital areas as needed.

Experience
  • At least two years in a hospital or medical institution as a registered/certified radiologic technician in X‑ray, MRI, CT, IR, or ultrasound.
  • Strong critical thinking, service excellence, interpersonal communication, and PC skills.
  • Capacity to learn, synthesize information, work independently, and prioritize patients, families, and team collaboration.
