About the RoleAs an IT Asset Management Specialist, you will be responsible for tracking, logging, auditing, and maintaining records for company technology assets across our organization. You will work closely with the IT department to ensure all equipment is accurately accounted for throughout its lifecycle.
Managing IT assets is the foundation of effective technical support. This role provides hands‑on exposure to the hardware, systems, and processes used throughout our organization, making it an ideal stepping stone for individuals interested in building a long-term career in Information Technology.
Key Responsibilities Asset Management & Data Entry- Accurately enter and maintain asset information, including serial numbers, model information, user assignments, and deployment dates.
- Update and manage records within IT asset management databases, spreadsheets, and internal systems.
- Perform high-volume data entry with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Track the complete lifecycle of IT equipment, including laptops, monitors, docking stations, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Receive, organize, store, and deploy company hardware.
- Maintain organized inventory and equipment storage areas.
- Conduct routine physical and electronic audits of equipment inventory.
- Reconcile discrepancies and ensure records accurately reflect deployed assets.
- Generate inventory reports and assist with asset accountability initiatives.
- Prepare and organize equipment for new hire onboarding.
- Process returned equipment from employee offboarding.
- Coordinate equipment assignments and inventory updates with internal departments.
- Utilize Microsoft Office, inventory tracking systems, and IT ticketing platforms to manage daily tasks.
- Support administrative and technology-related projects as assigned by the IT team.
- Previous experience in data entry, inventory control, asset management, administrative support, or a related role.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and technology equipment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately enter and manage large amounts of data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and productivity.
- Professional demeanor and ability to thrive in a corporate office environment.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and organize IT equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move inventory as needed throughout the workday.
- Experience using IT ticketing systems.
- Experience with cell phone carrier portals and mobile device management.
- Experience with inventory management systems.
- Shipping, receiving, warehouse inventory, or logistics experience.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 environments.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in Information Technology and technical support.
- Is naturally organized and detail-oriented.
- Enjoys working with technology and computer hardware.
- Takes pride in accuracy and accountability.
- Can spot inconsistencies and resolve discrepancies.
