Overview
Supervisors in Quality Control are responsible for overseeing day-to-day QC operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing. They provide leadership and direction to QC employees, ensure compliance with company policies and food safety standards, and drive continuous improvement in productivity and employee engagement.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership, coaching, and accountability to QC employees.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, and OSHA safety regulations.
- Allocate labor, equipment, and materials efficiently to meet QC goals and production targets.
- Conduct root cause analysis and complete HACCP, Allergen, Fryer, and other safety/quality reports.
- Oversee daily QC schedules to achieve safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets.
- Direct oversight of QC staff on a shift.
- Provide hands‑on support, coaching, and training for new or less experienced employees.
- Escalate complex issues to senior supervisors or Chief Supervisor.
- Diagnose and resolve product, process, and equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Analyze performance data, recommend corrective actions, and implement process improvements.
- Develop work schedules, training programs, and staffing plans.
- Decision‑making focused on immediate QC and production needs.
- Partner with Production, Maintenance, HR, and other departments to resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate reports, logs, and metrics for QC, safety, and attendance.
- Promote teamwork, continuous improvement, and a positive work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required:
- Associate’s degree in business, Engineering, Food Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 1‑2 years in manufacturing, including leadership experience.
- Effective communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and production reporting systems (ERP/ADP or similar).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Food Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3‑5 years in manufacturing, including leadership experience.
- Previous supervisory experience in food manufacturing or related production environment strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety, GMPs, HACCP, and OSHA safety standards.
USD $23.50 - USD $36.00 /Hr.
