Junior Machinist

Job Number
Description- Set up and operate machine tools including lathes, mill/drills, and surface grinders
- Perform precision machining operations following blueprints and technical instructions
- Assemble, disassemble, and overhaul gearboxes and related equipment
- Set up and operate balancing machines to bring components within tolerance
- Determine machining processes, tooling, feeds, and speeds
- Inspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure accuracy and quality
- Pre-set and sharpen cutting tools as needed
- Troubleshoot machining or equipment issues and take corrective action
- Perform routine machine maintenance (coolant, lubrication, filters)
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–2 years of experience in machining, mechanical assembly, or related field
- Apprenticeship or technical training preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Familiarity with machining tools and measuring instruments
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
