Flight Checker Position

Staff Management | SMX is seeking individuals for the flight checker position. Shift times include 1st shift from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM, 2nd shift from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and 3rd shift from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Employment type

s are full time and long term. Pay rate is $19.70 - $20.20 per hour.

Duties and responsibilities include moving completed carts/carriers from food or equipment to final cooler before KRT once packing and department QA are complete, coordinating retrieval of missing/callback items identified by the flight checker from EQ and food supervisor or team leader, performing dairy and ice packing as needed, and other duties as assigned.

Qualities and skill requirements include the ability to speak, read, and write in English, reliable attendance, ability to work overtime on occasion, and flexibility with shift/day off changes as needs arise.

Physical requirements include the ability to lift 25-50lbs frequently and 50-75lbs occasionally, standing, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time, and continuous work in refrigerated storage areas where the temperature is 34-40 degrees.

Position requirements include working in refrigerated rooms for the duration of the shift, basic math skills, problem-solving skills, working under pressure, working overtime when available, and having a good attitude. In-flight catering experience or previous employment at the airport is a plus.

Requirements include a background check, drug test, standing for shift duration, being at least 18 years old, and having a high school diploma or GED.
