DescriptionMSAD 11 is seeking an exceptional special educator to join the Life Skills Program at Gardiner Area High School. The successful candidate will have experience supporting students with a range of academic, functional, communication, social-emotional, and behavioral needs through individualized programming and instruction.
Responsibilities- Foster a supportive, structured, and inclusive learning environment where students feel respected, encouraged, and empowered to develop independence and life skills.
- Develop and implement individualized programming that addresses academic, behavioral, communication, vocational, and functional life skill needs.
- Collect and utilize student data to inform instruction, interventions, and progress monitoring.
- Supervise, support, and collaborate effectively with education technicians to ensure high-quality student programming and consistency of supports.
- Demonstrate strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills while working closely with students, families, service providers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Exhibit flexibility, creativity, and problem‑solving skills in addressing emerging student and program needs.
- Write goals, conduct progress monitoring, and complete progress reporting; all other IEP paperwork is conducted by an individual dedicated to paperwork.
