Ryder System is hiring a Diesel Mechanic to keep our transportation fleet safe, reliable, and road-ready. In this on-site role, you will diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on diesel trucks, trailers, and related equipment for a leading logistics provider. Responsibilities include troubleshooting engines, brakes, electrical, and hydraulic systems; completing scheduled services; and documenting all work in compliance with Ryder and DOT standards.

You'll work with in a safety-first, team-based shop, use modern diagnostic tools, and gain access to continuous technical training and advancement opportunities across Ryder's North American operations.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel trucks, trailers, and related equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and scheduled services
  • Troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Use diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and OEM software to identify issues
  • Document work performed, parts used, and repair recommendations accurately
  • Follow Ryder and DOT safety standards, policies, and procedures
  • Communicate findings and repair status with supervisors and drivers
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
  • Support breakdown and road-call repairs as needed
  • Participate in ongoing technical training and ASE certification programs
