Position Details:

  • Drivers are guaranteed a minimum weekly pay of $1,500 (discussed further in an interview).
  • If earnings based on routes and productivity exceed $1,500, the higher amount will be paid.
  • Tuesday – Friday schedule (4‑day work week).
  • Local day routes, home nightly.

Position Purpose

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Drivers ensure customers’ products arrive on time and in good condition, and serve as the face of the company by building lasting relationships with customers.

Primary Responsibilities

The driver operates a tractor‑trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, shuttle, overnight, and drive‑and‑drop routes for the delivery and unloading of food and related products in a safe and timely manner, in accordance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). professionally with customers, vendors, and co‑workers, answers questions accurately, and operates as a team member within the department and organization. Performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip safety checks, including inspections of tractor, truck, and trailer according to DOT regulations and company safety standards.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies; report safety hazards immediately.
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
  • Count items and verify customer invoices against loaded products.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
  • Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed.
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to the predetermined schedule.
  • Unload products, transport them into designated customer storage areas, and perform damage control checks.
  • Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures.
  • Collect money (cash or checks) where required.
  • Load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors.
  • Secure that tractor, trailer, and freight are locked or otherwise secured at all times.
  • Unload damaged goods and returns, then bring to the driver check‑in and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Unload all equipment, materials, and trash from trailers as required.
  • Record hours of service daily and log them in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience.
  • Valid CDL

    A.
  • Valid Doubles Certification.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Work required on a 3rd shift schedule, Sunday–Thursday nights (schedules may vary).
  • Pass pre‑employment drug test.
  • Pass road test.
  • Valid current DOT Health Card and/or ability to secure a new DOT Health Card.
  • Ability to hand‑lift and use a two‑wheeler, lift gate, or other equipment to move or stack product cases/freight ranging from approximately 60 to 90 pounds.
