Job Description:
Potential Adjunct Faculty. Applications for this position will be held in applicant pools; when a position opens up in any given discipline, the pool of applicants will be consulted to fill the position. Applicants will not be notified of their status unless contacted for an interview, which might occur soon after applying or as much as a year later. Adjunct Faculty postings are for potential part-time, non-benefited positions during the academic years.
Responsibilities- Instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes; instructional preparation
- Assessment of student performance, including submission of final grades in a timely fashion
- Be available to students by appointment when mutually convenient
- Teach the approved CNA curriculum from Massachusetts DPH
- Work closely with PN faculty to develop and maintain academic pathways for students
- Teach courses at all instructional locations as assigned by the Dean of Nursing
- Participate in team-based theory preparation utilizing a wide variety of teaching methodologies, including informational technologies (Blackboard, ATI, and EHR) and active learning strategies
- In collaboration with the Primary CNA instructor, design well-developed content exams
- Collaborate on data collection and analysis for program and course student learning outcomes to guide curriculum development
- Work with the department and staff to meet departmental and student needs; contribute to recruitment and admissions and evaluate program progression and outcomes
- Create clinical learning activities and supervise/evaluate students in practice settings
- Ensure safe nursing care in clinical, laboratory, or community settings
- Develop college laboratory learning experiences, including simulations, to assess clinical skills and learning outcomes
- Participate in MBORN compliance/approval and ACEN accreditation processes as needed
- Participate in college governance and department committees per MCCC contract
- Maintain clinical specialization expertise and ongoing professional development
- Maintain faculty credentialing requirements and update faculty files annually (CORI/SORI, drug screening, license verification, liability and health requirements, BLS CPR, etc.)
- Additional duties as required by the college

RequirementsMinimum Qualifications
- One year of nursing experience in a nursing home and/or long-term care facility
- Massachusetts LPN License in good standing at time of hire and throughout employment
- A minimum of two years of full-time nursing experience within the last five years
- Minimum of one year of experience in lesson planning, delivery, student evaluation, and remediation in a healthcare setting
- Completion of at least 24 continuing education hours in curriculum development and teaching adult learners
- Evidence of clinical competence in the area of assigned clinical instruction
- Proficiency in oral, written, and electronic communication
Desired Qualifications
- Master of Science Degree in Nursing
- Massachusetts RN license in good standing at time of hire and throughout employment
- Prior experience working as a CNA
- Experience teaching first-generation and underserved students
- Experience with active and experiential teaching and learning
- Strong interpersonal skills
