Onward Education is partnering with Worcester County, MA to hire a Special Education Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year
. This is an on-site role supporting middle school students in a resource room / pull-out setting, providing targeted, small-group instruction.

Job Summary

In this role, you'll deliver specialized instruction--primarily small-group "C-grid" services (e.g., reading groups, math skills groups)--to help students strengthen core academic skills while they spend the remainder of their day in general education settings. You'll collaborate with school staff and families, support IEP implementation, and track progress toward student goals.

Position Details
  • Location: On-site
  • Schedule: 7:00 AM - 2:15 PM
  • Pay: $53.50 - $57.50
  • Hours: 33.75 hours/week
  • School Year: 2026/2027

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized instruction in a resource room/pull-out setting for targeted skill areas (reading, math, etc.).
  • Deliver small-group instruction aligned to student goals and instructional needs.
  • Implement IEP services and support progress toward IEP goals.
  • Collect data and monitor student progress; adjust instruction and interventions as needed.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff.
  • Communicate effectively with families and participate in meetings as needed (IEP/team meetings).
Qualifications
  • Active Special Education teaching certification/license (appropriate to the role and state requirements).
  • Experience supporting students through small-group interventions and skill-building instruction.
  • Knowledge of IEP implementation, goal tracking, and progress monitoring/data collection.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with school teams and families.
  • Ability to create a supportive, structured learning environment for diverse learners.
