Mold Technician

Job Role s and Responsibilities

Monitor molding machines and auxiliary equipment to ensure they are operating properly.

Troubleshoot problems by diagnosing the cause, making minor repairs, and cleaning molds and platens as necessary to prevent quality issues.

Adjust controls and machine settings as required to maintain optimum operation and quality of parts.

Perform machine start-up and shut down as needed to meet the production schedule.

Perform preventative maintenance activities as scheduled or required.

Use correct measures to return machines and equipment to their manufacturing operational condition within a reasonable amount of time, including troubleshooting and repairing from OEM schematics.

Oversee, follow, and enforce all safety practices and quality standards.

Prepare and submit work orders for the Maintenance Department to address major issues or problems.

Interact daily with the Shift Supervisor, Cell Leaders, and Packers to stay informed of operational concerns and production needs.

Act as a backup to the Shift Supervisor when necessary.

Maintain shared responsibility for product quality and perform other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or GED equivalent plus two years of manufacturing experience, or a similar combination of education and work experience.

Good mechanical skills, the ability to read schematics, and prior experience with production machinery.

Knowledge of injection molding machines and basic processing is highly preferred.

Basic computer skills with experience in MS Office Suite and ERP software (IQMS preferred).

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

High attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure with time-sensitive matters.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and follow verbal and written instructions.

Ability to fluently read, write, and speak the English language.

Physical stamina to stand, stoop, kneel, or crouch in tight spaces for a high percentage of the workday, with the ability to bend, lift, and stack materials up to 70 pounds.
