Job Description
Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
Schedule:
36 Hours, Varies, Potential for every third weekend
Assignment Details:
Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Requirements:
- Current state nursing license
- IV competent
- CPR certification required
- NRP certified or ability to obtain NRP certification within 90 days of hire
- ACLS upon hire or must hold an active BLS card and obtain AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire
- For nurses working in Labor and Delivery, must have/complete AWHONN's Introduction to Fetal Monitoring and attend AWHONN's Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring within 1 year
- Minimum one year of med/surg experience required
- Maternity experience preferred
Roles & Responsibilities :
- Assess and reassess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions and patient care plans.
- Provide patient care based on established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Deliver patient and family education tailored to identified learning needs.
- Collaboratively plan and prepare patients and families for discharge, incorporating necessary support systems.
- Safely administer medications and intravenous therapy in accordance with physician's orders.
- Monitor patient conditions and communicate with physicians regarding any changes.
- Assist in stabilizing high-risk patients and provide care to postpartum and gynecological patients.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of newborns and provide appropriate care and education to new mothers.
