Position: Travel Registered Nurse L&D Job

Overview

Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D) in Gardner, MA. Start 06/22/2026 for 13 weeks.

Weekly pay: $1,777–$1,830 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week.

Shift: Rotating. Setting: inpatient healthcare facility.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient and family-centered care in labor and delivery, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans; maintain thorough documentation per policy.
  • Monitor fetal status using external and internal monitoring; interpret fetal heart rate patterns and initiate appropriate nursing interventions; manage labor checks, inductions, augmentations, NSTs, and epidurals as needed.
  • Safely administer medications and IV therapies, monitor analgesia effectiveness, and support postpartum and gynecologic patients.
  • Deliver newborn care and teaching: perform newborn assessments, support mother‑infant bonding, and educate on feeding methods; coordinate discharge planning with families and support systems.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the health care team; provide patient/family education and resources for care after discharge; participate in safety and quality initiatives and report issues promptly.
  • Assist in managing high‑risk cases, neonatal resuscitation when required, and stabilization during transfers to higher levels of care; contribute to ongoing learning and mentorship.
Requirements
  • Current Massachusetts RN license (active)
  • IV competency required
  • CPR certification required
  • NRP certified or ability to obtain NRP within 90 days of hire
  • ACLS required upon hire OR active BLS with ACLS to be obtained within 60 days of hire
  • For Labor & Delivery: complete AWHONN Introduction to Fetal Monitoring and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring within 1 year
  • Minimum education:

    Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Minimum work experience: at least 1 year of med/surg experience required; maternity experience preferred
  • Ability to work in an L&D inpatient setting and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
