Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions and plans of care to achieve optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Assess and reassess patient conditions, planning and implementing appropriate nursing interventions.
- Provide patient care based on established standards of practice and protocols.
- Respect patient individuality and foster a sense of dignity and positive self-regard.
- Educate patients and families based on their identified learning needs.
- Collaboratively plan and prepare patients and families for discharge, ensuring support systems are in place.
- Delegate and supervise nursing interventions performed by others as appropriate.
- Prioritize patient care effectively, ensuring timely interventions and assistance as needed.
- Document all pertinent data and care provided in a thorough and timely manner.
- Communicate clearly with other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Promote a learning environment for self and colleagues through teaching and professional development.
- Identify and report risks to patient safety and opportunities for reducing healthcare errors.
- Safely administer medications and intravenous therapy in accordance with established guidelines.
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments upon admission and during care.
- Complete mandated reporting for potential abuse cases and maintain necessary documentation.
- Recognize and manage patients at risk for violent behavior or those needing restraints.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required;
Bachelor's Degree preferred. - 3-5 years of Emergency Department experience preferred.
- Current MA RN license is required.
- ACLS certification upon hire or must obtain within 60 days of hire.
- AHA PALS certification within six months of hire.
- Certifications in TNCC, ENPC, and CEN are preferred.
This position requires a varied schedule that includes shifts from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM, working Sunday through Saturday with every other weekend and holiday commitments.
