We are Hiring for an Automotive Service Technician role in Garfield Heights, Ohio.
This shop is a locally owned, tight-knit automotive shop with a commitment to quality service, teamwork, and continuous learning. Our experienced senior technicians—each with over 30 years in the industry—are passionate about mentoring and supporting fellow team members. As we grow, we’re looking for a dependable and skilled Automotive Service Technician to join our crew and carry their own weight in diagnostics and repairs, while collaborating in a team-first environment.
WhatYou’ll Do
The Automotive Service Technician (Tech) performs high-quality maintenance and repair services on customer vehicles to keep vehicles safe and roadworthy. This position is responsible for diagnosing, estimating and correcting mechanical and electrical issues on customer vehicles as assigned. This position reports to the Shop Foreman, consults with the Senior Automotive Service Technician and collaborates with other All Car team members and customers.
In addition to other duties as assigned, Tech is responsible for developing and maintaining independent competency and managing a workload in the following areas:
- Performing routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspection and replacement, suspension work, emissions diagnostics and repair, radiator and hose replacement, and other automotive repairs as assigned by Shop Foreman.
- Conducting thorough inspections of vehicles to identify any potential issues or safety concerns.
- Using hand and power tools and specialized equipment to safely perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Diagnosing and repairing vehicle concerns, such as engine problems, electrical malfunctions, emissions control faults, and suspension or steering issues.
- Maintaining accurate records of all repairs and services performed on vehicles.
- Paying excellent attention to detail and displaying the ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency using diagnostic tools to identify vehicle concerns and recommendations.
- Displaying strong customer service skills to interact with customers and address their concerns.
- Creating accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job.
- Entering all findings, recommendations and work completed into shop management software.
- Maintaining all equipment and tools in good condition.
- Maintaining and enhancing a clean, neat, safe workspace.
- Requesting supplies before they run out.
- Working cooperatively with team members to facilitate good rapport, a comfortable workplace, and positive team dynamics.
- Working safely and using appropriate safety equipment.
- Pursuing and maintaining ASE Certifications as suitable to the role.
- Meeting minimum performance standards for volume, quality and timeliness of work.
- Cross-training and learning all other roles to be capable of filling in as needed.
- Completing all work in book time or less.
- Showing up on time, well-groomed and ready to work.
- 3+ years of hands-on automotive service experience
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills across multiple vehicle systems
- Willingness to learn and collaborate in a team environment
- Self-motivated and capable of managing assigned work independently
- ASE certifications preferred (testing paid for if not yet certified)
- Valid driver’s license required
- Monday through Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Competitive base salary (~$60,000/year)
