As a District Nurse, you help ensure students across the district have access to safe and effective health services that support learning.
Your work promotes healthy school environments and helps students stay ready to learn.
What You’ll Do- Assess and monitor student health needs across the district
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor student responses
- Provide first aid and nursing interventions for acute and chronic health needs
- Conduct health screenings and monitor immunization compliance
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Support communicable disease prevention protocols
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and community healthcare providers
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and FERPA guidelines
- Active Ohio RN License (Required)
- Knowledge of OSHA guidelines, communicable disease prevention, and medication protocols
- Experience in school-based or pediatric nursing preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA and student health confidentiality standards
- ODE School Nurse License preferred but not required
