The Willis Law Group is hiring a Legal Accounting Specialist to join our accounting team. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for managing supplier invoicing and outbound payments and monitoring and ensuring all financial models, records, and related materials are kept up-to-date and stored safely. This role supports the team to ensure our accounting practices are timely and organized.

We’ll depend on you to keep great records and closely track and maintain our accounting. The ideal candidate is highly organized and analytical and has excellent communication skills. This role provides an opportunity to grow your skills and work with an amazing team. This opportunity is 100% onsite.

Legal Accounting Specialist Responsibilities
  • Process general ledgers and reconcile.
  • Prepare cash flow and daily reports.
  • Process and analyze financial data.
  • Reporting findings to the business.
  • Support with tax matters. (filing and returns).
  • Undertake monthly and/or quarterly reviews of accounts.
  • Disbursements accounting and profit and loss statements.
  • Provide ongoing financial advice. (initial structure, expansion, and more)
  • Knowledge of and the understanding of “Trust” accounts and reconciliation
  • Prepare all financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements. (following GAAP)
  • Other duties as assigned.
Legal Accounting Specialist Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an accounting-related field.
  • 3+ years' experience working as a Legal Accounting Specialist or in a similar accounting position.
  • Knowledge of relevant tax laws in accordance with the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, Excel, and Quick Books.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Responsibility, close attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
