Summary
Responsible for repairing and maintaining the operation of all City vehicles.
Pay Range$16.50 - $20.50 (Depending on qualifications and experience)
Work ScheduleB shift 9AM to 6PM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform preventative maintenance on city vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair city vehicles.
- Order necessary parts as needed.
- Maintain a clean and orderly Fleet Shop.
- Complete work labor and task information.
Other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- 2 years related experience
- Must own basic hand and air tools
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- Education/
Experience:
6 months to 1 year advanced training in automotive mechanics - 2-4 years experience in automotive shop repair and diagnosis
- General knowledge of automotive repair and diagnostics
- General knowledge of Fleet software processes
- Skill in utilizing Shop Key software
- Skill in performing preventative maintenance on vehicles
- Must obtain 1 ASE Certification within one year of hire
- Valid Class A Commercial Texas driver's license or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
