The Middle School Fine Arts Teacher provides high-quality visual and performing arts instruction that supports students’ intellectual, creative, emotional, and spiritual development. Through engaging, standards-aligned instruction, the teacher fosters artistic expression, creativity, and appreciation for the arts while promoting Islamic character and values.
This role includes developing and delivering a vertically aligned fine arts curriculum across grade levels and preparing students for participation in fine arts competitions. The teacher contributes to the school’s transition toward a STEAM-integrated learning environment.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement a comprehensive fine arts curriculum aligned with TEKS standards
Ensure vertical alignment of curriculum from elementary through high school
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in areas such as drawing, digital art, and theater
Integrate fine arts with broader academic and STEAM initiatives
Utilize technology and innovative instructional strategies
Student Development & Engagement
Foster creativity, artistic skills, and student expression
Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
Encourage student participation in fine arts competitions and showcases
Support student confidence, identity development, and collaboration
Assessment & Progress Monitoring
Assess student performance and artistic development
Provide timely, constructive feedback
Maintain accurate grade books and student records
Use data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes
Classroom Management
Maintain a structured, respectful, and safe learning environment
Ensure proper supervision of students at all times
Collaborate with faculty and program coordinators on arts initiatives
Participate in school events, exhibitions, and performances
Contribute to interdisciplinary and school-wide programming
Support student clubs, extracurricular activities, and competitions
Coordinate participation in fine arts competitions in collaboration with the Art Director, with final approval from the Middle School Principal; competition selection and levels will be determined at the start of each academic year.
Professional Responsibilities
Participate in professional development and training
Stay informed on current trends and best practices in fine arts education
Provide additional support or tutoring as needed
Complete required documentation and reports promptly
