Make an Impact as a Preschool TeacherYou will serve as a team member in an assigned staff group and will be responsible for planning and implementing programs for preschoolers. You will implement classroom programs in compliance with CCG standards, Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC criteria, and local and state licensing standards while serving in the Teacher role for center assigned.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions- Manages classroom environment. Shares responsibility of setting up room for daily activities and provides attractive and functional learning centers
- Assists in the planning, preparation, and implementation of work with children appropriate to development level based on RC3; includes developing curriculum, completing child assessments, maintaining records, etc.
- Plans activities for children in constant care group that support the child increasing developmental skills in all domains on the E – LAP by at least 15%
- Manages time and becomes familiar with routine of each classroom in which he/she may work
- Develops strong relationships with children and their families. Serves as a team member in assigned classroom.
- Participates in parent meetings and parent conferences; conducts home visits per Performance Standards regulations
- Requires the acquisition of knowledge and proficiency of the Head Start Electronic Information System, Child Plus , and/or Redelearner Database within the introductory period of employment. Child Care Group will train the employee either directly or through the Database Training Department of Head Start of Greater Dallas, Inc.
- Assists in the inventory of and request for equipment and supplies
- Participates in entry process of child into care giving group
- Responsible for complying with all CCG policies and procedures including, but not limited to, EEO/Affirmative Action, ADA, Conduct, Conflict of Interest, Solicitation and Safety
- Assumes responsibility for daily classroom program in Lead Teacher’s absence
- Works closely with other classroom teacher(s), administrative staff, children, parents and families
- Organizes a classroom environment for children with minimum amount of hazards
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent required, PRESCHOOL Child Development Associate (CDA) or Associate's degree in child development or related field required , Bachelors degree preferred
- One year of experience working with young children required
- Desire to work with young children, general knowledge of “normal” growth and development
- Ability to work as a team member
- Good organizational skills and written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, parents and center volunteers
- Must have a valid Texas driver's license
- Driving record must comply with CCG's automobile insurance carrier requirements
- Must have liability insurance coverage and reliable personal transportation
- Ability to travel locally or out of town as required
- Mileage reimbursement is offered when applicable
- Must submit to and successfully pass all required CCG and Partner Program background checks throughout employment. These include FBI, Fingerprinting, Neglect and Abuse, Federal, State, Local, and Sex Offender background checks. Background check requirements may be expanded at the discretion of CCG and Partner Programs.
