Position

Summary

The Project Manager – HVAC Mechanical is responsible for overseeing all phases of HVAC mechanical projects, from estimating, pre-construction through completion. In addition to leading project execution, the role also includes responsibilities in estimating, helping ensure accurate bid development and financial forecasting for new opportunities. This individual will manage planning, resource allocation, budgeting, and communication with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure successful delivery in alignment with scope, budget, and schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • I. Project Planning & Execution
    • Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and work plans.
    • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to finalize HVAC system specifications.
    • Oversee procurement processes to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
    • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for HVAC mechanical scopes based on drawings, specifications, site visits, and vendor/subcontractor quotes.
    • Analyze labor, material, and equipment requirements and their associated costs.
    • Participate in bid reviews and provide value engineering alternatives to improve cost competitiveness.
    • Assist in developing bid proposals, scope clarifications, and project budgets during pre-construction.
    • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and verify scope coverage.
    • Direct and supervise field staff, subcontractors, and foremen on project execution.
    • Conduct regular project meetings to address progress, schedule updates, and any field challenges.
  • IV. Budget & Cost Control
    • Monitor and control project budgets, cost performance, and financial reporting.
    • Review and approve vendor/subcontractor invoices, change orders, and payment applications.
    • Identify and implement cost-control strategies and change management procedures.
  • V. Client & Stakeholder Management
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Maintain effective communication and documentation to align expectations and resolve issues promptly.
    • Provide regular progress updates and closeout documentation.
  • Qualifications I. Education & Experience
    • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline preferred.
    • 5+ years of project management experience in HVAC mechanical construction, with at least 2 years of estimating experience preferred.
    • Demonstrated success in managing HVAC construction projects from pre-construction through close-out.
    • Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Trimble, FastPIPE, Quote Soft) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore).
    • Strong understanding of HVAC Division 23, blueprints, specifications, and construction methods.
    • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Effective verbal and written communication with both internal teams and external clients.
    • Ability to manage multiple estimates and projects concurrently under tight deadlines.
    • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.
