RF Solutions Engineer, reporting to the Engineering Manager, will perform systems and solutions consulting support and project delivery throughout the systems delivery lifecycle.

• Systems solutions consulting, engineering, and systems project delivery with expertise in 2 or more of the following areas:
  • Radio
  • BDA/DAS
  • LMR
  • PLTE
  • Video
  • Microwave
• Develop large‑scale and/or multi‑technology solution designs for projects over $250K
• Deliver highly technical business presentations to customers
• Gather information, research vendor technologies, and perform systems integration work to develop solutions
• Perform RF designs and RF propagation analysis and study
• Prepare and maintain project documents throughout the lifecycle (project plan, actions log, risk and issue registers, schedules, cost estimates, budgets, milestone tracking for invoicing, etc.)
• Prepare project charts, conceptual and detail system designs, network diagrams, floor plans, rack layouts, bills of materials, and supporting documents
• Utilize site survey results to develop design requirements, including RF data collection
• Model indoor propagation and capacity to determine antenna placement and equipment needs
• Understand and apply requirements for multiple operating systems
• Develop system equipment and build‑of‑materials list
• Review and approve final design construction documents
• Design and integrate communications systems to support customers’ business requirements
• Produce consolidated user‑friendly documentation that includes prediction models and a build‑of‑materials list using Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
• Deliver final as‑built design details following coverage test results
• Liaise with sales executives, sales engineers, and other systems engineers
• Mentor less experienced designers and engineers
• Cross‑train co‑workers in areas of expertise
• Ensure projects run on time, within budget, and comply with specifications and quality requirements
• Manage customer relationships and maintain project confidence
• Interface with sales team regarding technical design of projects related to two‑way radio systems, DAS/BDA, Video, and LTE Networks
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, Wireless, Radio Communications, Computers, or equivalent with 5+ years of experience as an RF Designer/Engineer or similar role
• Current iBwave Level 2 Certification
• Knowledge of electricity, electronics, telecommunications, radio communications, networking, video, and wireless principles
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to implement improvements with cross‑functional teams
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
• Experience with RF system design and implementation, including antennas and filtering
• Experience with systems solutions consulting, engineering practices, processes, and project delivery
• Familiarity with general construction industry practices and the project life cycle
• MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Project, Visio)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interpreting technical documents, contracts, and related materials
• Commitment to policies and procedures, including attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities
• Ability to work under pressure in periodic or cyclical schedules, meeting time‑sensitive deadlines
• Willingness to work additional hours when necessary to meet job deadlines
• Proficiency with common office equipment (PCs, printers, copiers, faxes)
• Experience working in an office environment, operating a computer keyboard and video display terminal >75% of the time
• Good visual acuity and hand/finger dexterity; ability to move equipment up to 25 pounds
• Travel up to 10% of the time as needed
• Drug screening and background checks required (including Motor Vehicle Record check)
