With a commitment to excellence and innovation, we have successfully completed numerous large-scale projects, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency for water and wastewater facilities. We have been focusing solely on Water and Wastewater Treatment plants for the past 35+ years of the 70 years in business in the TX market.

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all operational aspects of the company with a focus on HVAC mechanical installations in industrial environments—specifically Water and Wastewater Treatment facilities. This individual will drive the performance of project execution, field operations, safety, procurement, and service, ensuring that all mechanical projects meet the highest standards for quality, safety, and efficiency. This role is instrumental in scaling the company’s operations while maintaining excellence in industrial project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Oversight:
Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the construction and service divisions, ensuring safe, timely, and profitable execution of HVAC projects in Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants.
  • Industrial Project Management:
Direct all aspects of large-scale mechanical installations including process HVAC, ventilation, chemical containment systems, instrumentation cooling, and climate control for treatment facilities.
  • Strategic Execution:
Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term planning, growth strategies, and market development focused on municipal and industrial infrastructure.
  • Team Leadership:
Build and manage a high-performance operations team including project managers, field supervisors, estimators, and technicians with a strong emphasis on industrial and government-sector work.
  • Job Costing & Financial Management:
Monitor job budgets, labor productivity, procurement, and change orders to ensure fiscal responsibility and accurate forecasting across all active projects.
  • Compliance & Safety:
Ensure compliance with OSHA, confined space entry, hazardous environments, and municipal construction safety standards specific to water and wastewater sites.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
Act as a key point of contact for municipal clients, general contractors, and engineering partners, ensuring alignment, transparency, and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Process Optimization:
Implement systems and procedures to improve installation timelines, documentation, QA/QC processes, and post-project service handoff.
  • Technology & Reporting:
Leverage construction and service management platforms (e.g., Procore, Knowify, Autodesk Build) to monitor KPIs, generate performance reports, and ensure real-time project visibility.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in the industrial HVAC/mechanical contracting industry.
  • Minimum 5 years in an executive or senior operational leadership role.
  • Proven success managing HVAC installations for Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants or other heavy industrial environments.
  • Deep understanding of public works construction practices, submittal processes, municipal coordination, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC mechanical systems: large air handlers, ductwork, chilled water, chemical exhaust, DDC/BAS controls, and mission-critical redundancy systems.
  • Solid background in budgeting, job costing, procurement, and field productivity metrics.
  • Proficiency with construction management and scheduling software tools.
  • Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience working on Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build public infrastructure projects.
  • Licensed Mechanical Contractor, or PE license (preferred but not required).
  • Familiarity with industrial commissioning, startup protocols, and turnover packages.
  • Knowledge of municipal procurement procedures and working with engineering consultants.
