The Detox Counselor is a full-time, on-site position based in Dallas, TX. This role involves working directly with women undergoing detoxification, providing counseling and support to ensure their safety and emotional well-being. Daily responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, facilitating therapeutic sessions, and maintaining detailed records. The counselor collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to create a supportive environment that fosters recovery.
The counselor will also engage families in recovery planning and provide educational support on substance use topics.
- Counseling and therapeutic skills, including client assessment, treatment planning, and emotional support
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, families, and team members
- Knowledge of substance use disorders, detoxification processes, and recovery principles
- Experience with case management and electronic record-keeping systems
- Ability to work empathetically while maintaining professionalism and patient confidentiality
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field (required)
- Licensure as an LCDC, LPC Associate, MSW or similar credential (preferred)
- Experience working with women and families in a treatment or healthcare setting is a plus
