SQL​/hadoop Developer - Hybrid

Job Description

We are looking for SQL/Hadoop QA Experts for Enterprise Complaints Reporting & Analytics India Team. The resource will primarily work on requests such as AdHocs, QAQC, Transcription and Validation and other data mining work within the Enterprise Complaints Reporting & Analytics Team. The QA Tester will collaborate with data engineers, batch operations analysts, application SMEs, and DBAs. The role may also involve working with technical resources at third‑party partner organizations to gather specifications for data exchanged with the partner, and will closely partner with QA and UAT teams to align test cycles and ensure that the test cases run support new features being built.

• Strong working experience with MS SQL Server databases and highly proficient with complex SQL scripting to validate source/target data load and transformation.
• Experience in any automation tool.
• Experience in Bigdata data pipeline testing with Hadoop/Spark framework in private cloud infrastructure.
• Hands‑on experience and strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) in Agile Scrum environments.
• Exposure to Data Warehousing and Dimensional Modelling Concepts.
• Experience in understanding of ETL source to target mapping documents.
• Knowledge of applying Spark Data Frame API concepts using PySpark to complete data manipulation tasks.
• Very good understanding of business intelligence concepts, architecture and building blocks in ETL processing, data warehouse, dashboards and analytics.
• Good knowledge in scripting languages like Python to create automated test scripts.
• Experience on different types of testing that include Black Box testing, Smoke testing, Functional testing, System Integration testing, End‑to‑End testing, Regression testing & User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and involvement in Load Testing, Performance Testing & Stress Testing as needed.
• Expertise in using JIRA and Excel for writing test cases and tracking defects.
• Participate in defect triaging during major releases and track defects for resolution/conclusion.
• An effective communicator with strong analytical abilities combined with skills to plan, implement and present projects.

• 3+ years of Python, PySpark.
• 7+ years of MS SQL.
• 7+ years of a scripting language (Power Shell, Python, etc.).
• Experience with an enterprise scheduler such as Auto Sys.
• Experience with an ETL toolset such as Informatica or SSIS.
• Experience creating automated regression testbeds, including creating meaningful input test data.
• Experience with scrubbing or anonymizing private identifying information in a sensitive dataset.
• Experience with reading and creating entity relationship diagrams, data flow diagrams, and data architecture diagrams.

• Experience working with third‑party teams, such as on a partner integration project.
• Experience with ticketing systems like HP Mercury, JIRA.
• Experience with Splunk.
• Experience on a QA team or with Test‑First Development may help quite a bit.
