Job SummaryWe are looking for a hands‑on Supply Chain Planner Buyer to support material availability, supplier performance, inventory accuracy, and on‑time customer delivery in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
This role will manage purchasing and replenishment activities, review demand and inventory needs, issue purchase orders, coordinate supplier follow‑up, and help resolve shortages, receiving discrepancies, quality issues, and invoice mismatches. The successful candidate will work closely with suppliers, engineering, production, warehouse operations, logistics, accounting, and customer service to keep materials moving at the right cost, quantity, and timing.
Key measures of success include material availability, supplier on‑time delivery, inventory accuracy, backorder reduction, purchasing cost control, and timely resolution of supply issues.
What You’ll Do- Review demand, inventory levels, production needs, and supplier lead times to support timely replenishment and minimize shortages.
- Create, manage, and follow up on purchase orders, blanket orders, scheduled releases, and supplier confirmations.
- Communicate with suppliers on pricing, lead times, order status, shortages, delivery issues, and recovery plans.
- Build strong supplier relationships and support cost reduction, alternate sourcing, supplier qualification, and performance improvement.
- Track critical materials and provide clear updates to production, engineering, customer service, warehouse, and leadership teams.
- Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier, pricing, part, and inventory records in ERP/MRP systems.
- Coordinate receiving activities by verifying quantities, part numbers, documentation, and material condition.
- Resolve receiving discrepancies, quality issues, supplier returns, RMAs, freight issues, and invoice mismatches with internal teams and external partners.
- Support cycle counts, physical inventory, inventory adjustments, and investigation of damaged, scrapped, returned, obsolete, excess, or non‑moving inventory.
- Collaborate with engineering and production on new products, engineering changes, long‑lead parts, obsolete components, and manufacturing priorities.
- Support freight, shipping, customs, and logistics activities as needed.
- Identify and implement improvements in purchasing, replenishment, receiving, inventory control, reporting, and material flow.
