Job Title: Material Specialist

Reports To: Material Manager

Job Summary: As a Material Specialist, focus on providing excellent service to team members by managing inventory of materials for HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing departments. Ensure materials are ready for technicians.

• Creating purchase orders, requisitioning material, and reconciling shipping receipts
• Answering phone calls from technicians
• Locating specialty parts
• Keeping track of serialized items
• Helping technicians at the front counter
• Creating end-of-day pick tickets and restock orders
• Vendor relations
• Assisting with Shipping and Receiving Technician tasks
• Willingness to help in any other areas needed
• Maintain a clean working environment

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Previous maintenance experience preferred
• Must comply with company attendance standards and appearance standards
• Must adhere to confidentiality expectations
• U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must pass drug screen and background check

• Effective communication with customers and team members
• Critical thinking, problem solving, and technical vocabulary to understand directions
• Willingness to adapt to workplace stressors such as customer service complaints

• Regularly lift and move items of 75 lbs or more; lift weights of 40-50 lbs on raised surfaces
• Climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently
• Carrying heavy items up and down stairs
• Work in extreme weather conditions (heat, rain, snow, sleet)
• Use hands for repetitive movements
• Work near others and solve problems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to read and interpret text
• 8‑hour workdays, rotating shifts, overtime, weekend work
• Must be able to complete a Job Physical Assessment
