** Summary
* * Responsible for performing semi-skilled manual labor work in keeping offices, buildings and surrounding grounds in a clean and orderly condition.
This is a
** temporary assignment expected to last through March 2027**.
*
* Schedule:

** Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
** Pay Rate:** $17.00 per hour  
** Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
* * include the following. Other duties may be assigned*.
* Maintain City facilities’ flooring by sweeping, mopping, shampooing and scrubbing.
* Clean woodwork, furniture, desk, chairs, filing cabinets and telephones.
* Complete detailed vacuuming of carpets and other applicable surfaces.
* Maintain sanitary condition of facilities by cleaning sinks, mirrors, countertops, toilets and drinking fountains.
* Complete special projects as assigned.  
** Minimum Qualifications
*** High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
* No experience required
* Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.  
** Preferred Qualifications
** Education/

Experience:

* 6 months to 1 year experience in maintenance, custodial services or similar experience  
** Knowledge, Skills & Abilities*
* * General knowledge of maintenance upkeep
* Skill in operating general cleaning maintenance equipment
* Ability to work to make independent decisions
* Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with City personnel  
** Licenses and Certifications
*** Valid Class C Texas Driver’s License  
** Physical Requirements / Work Environment
** The incumbent works in an outdoor and indoor environment; with occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Requires ability to carry 20 to 30 pounds. Tasks require physical labor, exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals
